Deerfield Beach Pier hours and fees

The short answer

The Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier is a 976-foot City pier at 200 NE 21st Ave., Deerfield Beach. The City of Deerfield Beach runs it through its Parks and Recreation department, and the bait shop at the pier entrance sells passes, bait and rod rentals. This page sets out the hours and fees as the City’s pier page showed them when we checked it on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026.

Pier hours: the posted hours and the night closure

The City’s standing line says the pier is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with an asterisk and the note that holidays may affect hours of operation. Directly below it, under “Upcoming operational impacts”, the same page, as we read it on Oct. 20, 2026, carries a notice that changes the evening half of that schedule.

Night closure from Oct. 20, 2026

The City’s pier page says: “As of October 20, 2026, we will be CLOSED SUNSET through SUNRISE until further notice, due to maintenance needs.” It gives no end date. Plan a daylight visit, and call the pier at 954-250-4167 before you go.

WhatWhat the City posts (checked Oct. 20, 2026)
Standing hours6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily; holidays may affect hours
From Oct. 20, 2026, until further noticeClosed sunset through sunrise, for maintenance
Rod rentals8 a.m. to 5 p.m. only; no rentals when the bait shop is closed
Angler parking in the pier lotWhen available, and only when the bait shop is open

We found no City news release about the closure and no end date. The City has not said what the maintenance is. When the notice changes, this page will record the new wording and the date we read it.

What it means for night fishing

Some older guides still describe night fishing at this pier. While the Oct. 20, 2026 notice stands, the pier is closed after sunset, so evening and night fishing are off the table. The City does not publish the bait shop’s opening hours. The one window it gives is for rod rentals, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some listings call that “fishing hours”. It is the rental window, not a limit on when you may fish.

Holidays and event days

The City says holidays may affect hours but does not list which days. City administrative offices close on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026 for Veterans Day, and that page does not say whether pier hours change. For Pioneer Days 2027, the City’s closure list includes the Pier Parking Lot on Feb. 12 and 13, and the International Fishing Pier itself on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2027. Details are on our events page.

  • "The City of Deerfield Beach administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday." (The page does not say whether pier hours change.) City of Deerfield Beach: Veterans Day Ceremony
  • Pioneer Days road and area closures list the Pier Parking Lot both days and the "International Fishing Pier" on Saturday, February 13, plus Ocean Way from Hillsboro Blvd to SE 4th St and the Main Beach lot. Can I go on this date?

Enter a date in the checker below. It returns the posted hours, the night closure while the City’s notice stands, the holiday caveat, the rod-rental window and any pier program that runs that day. It cannot see a closure the City has not posted, so call 954-250-4167 before a long drive.

Decision tool · can I go?

Can I go to the pier on this date?

Pick a date. We check it against every schedule the City and the other operators publish: the pier's hours and its night-closure notice, fees, rod rentals, pier-lot parking rates, lifeguards, nesting and hurricane season, Pioneer Days closures and Hillsboro Lighthouse tour days.

The published schedules this checker uses

Worked out from schedules checked October 20, 2026: the City of Deerfield Beach's pier, parking, Ocean Rescue, Beach, Sea Turtles, Pioneer Days and Ocean Way Holiday pages, FWC, NOAA's hurricane season dates and the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society's tour list. Where the City's own pages disagree, the checker says so.

Pier fees, effective Feb. 23, 2026

The City’s rate table is marked “EFFECTIVE Monday, February 23, 2026.” Two daily fees apply: one to walk out and look, one to fish.

Daily entryPriceFree with ID for
Sightseeing (walk the pier)$2.00Deerfield Beach residents, veterans, active military and first responders
Fishing$4.00Veterans and active military

Read the two rows closely. Residents and first responders walk out free, but the City does not list them as free for fishing. If you are not sure your ID qualifies, ask at the bait shop window before you pay.

Outdated prices you may still see

Older web pages quote a $1 sightseeing fee and rod rentals at $16 or $18. Those figures are outdated. The table above is the City’s current one as we read it on Oct. 20, 2026.

Passes for regular visitors

PassDeerfield Beach residentsNon-residentsActive military, veterans, first responders
Sightseer, monthlyWalk free$13Walk free with ID
Sightseer, six monthsWalk free$63Walk free with ID
Fishing, monthly$50$63$50
Fishing, six months$300$375$300
Fishing, annual$500$625$500

When does a pass pay off? By our arithmetic at $4 a day, a non-resident monthly fishing pass ($63) costs less than 16 daily fees ($64), and a resident monthly pass ($50) costs less than 13 ($52). A non-resident monthly sightseer pass ($13) beats seven $2 visits ($14). The fee calculator further down this page does the sums for your group.

Paying online

The City says all online payments carry a 3% convenience fee or a $.50 ACH fee, and that credit cards are not stored.

Rod rental and bait

The rod rental package costs $20 and includes a rod, one $6 pack of bait (as available) and five hours of parking in the pier lot (if available). A rod alone is $15. Both need a $25 refundable deposit, cash only, with ID. Rentals run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. only, rods must stay on the pier, and there are no rentals when the bait shop is closed. The bait shop sits at the pier entrance. What it stocks is on our fishing page.

Parking at the pier

The pier lot charges $3.00 an hour from Monday at 6 a.m. to Friday at 4 p.m., and $4.00 an hour from Friday at 4 p.m. to midnight on Sunday. Anglers can instead buy angler parking, $10 per 5 hours in the pier lot, when space is available and only when the bait shop is open. The City enforces parking 24/7, including weekends and holidays, and an overtime citation is $30. Zones, cheaper lots and payment apps are on our parking page.
